Reply: Reading ArtPro or Illustrator Files

Hi,
As part of a script, I am reading ArtPro and Illustrator documents as text files and getting the data between the XML tags. From this I can get information about used images, fonts, colours etc.

However, if an image is used as an opacity mask, it does not appear in the Image list. Sometimes it appears within garbled text outside of any tags, and sometimes it is not listed at all.

Is there anyone out there that is already doing this? Have you come across this limitation? Is there a way around it? How does the application 'know' about the image mask if there is no reference to it?

I would be grateful for any help you could give me.

Thanks

Ian
